School Bus Mechanic - Kirksville, MO

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours and rate of pay negotiable depending on experience
_ Job Description _
Diagnose potential vehicle and equipment malfunctions
Perform necessary repairs to vehicles and equipment
Determine needed repairs and/or replacements of vehicles and equipment
Execute preventative maintenance programs as well as safety inspections for vehicles and equipment
Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary
Maintain tools, equipment, and shop area
Adhere to Ecco Ride standards, policies, and procedures
Prepare documentation regarding information to comply with regulatory guidelines, vehicle and equipment systems/components repairs, etc.
Inspect vehicles using standard guidelines and ensure conformance to Mississippi Highway Patrol standards and Mississippi Department of Educations standards
Always a focus on safety
Perform other responsibilities as requested or required
_ Minimum Job Qualifications or you can title Educational/Experience Qualifications _
Automotive or diesel repair experience preferred
Appropriate mechanic s toolset
ASE Certification preferred but not required to start
Valid Driver s License; having a Class B Commercial Driver s License (CDL) is preferred but not required to start
Basic computer skills
Must be able to pass Pre-Job requirements including pre-employment drug screen and background check
_ Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Needed _
The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
Good verbal and written communication skills
The ability to work well as part of a team and independently
Regular, predictable, total attendance is an essential function of the job
