Summary:
The Engineer, based in Kirksville, Missouri, serves Plant Operations and provides support to Global Engineering, Leading project teams and individuals, process development, and providing technical expertise in support of and compatible with Hollister s Mission and Vision.


Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support of production equipment, Continuous Improvement and design of equipment upgrades.
  • Possess and frequently employ technical competence and troubleshooting abilities to deliver business results.
  • Provide input, when necessary, to assure that proper procedures and preventive maintenance schedules are incorporated into the production teams to the extent practical.
  • Work with internal and external resources to complete projects.
  • Manage/Monitor project progress to anticipate problems and develop solutions before they become critical, and use defined metrics to report progress to Management.
  • Prepare reports or financial justifications for financial authorization and effectively communicate the results to management.
  • Complete process development and testing through the use of a systematic process and employing DOEs and other relevant techniques.
  • Complete product or subassembly testing in support of process or product development.
  • Introduce new, validated processes to support NPD, R&D, Operations, or other clients.
  • Design, coordinate fabrication, and test pilot or mockup processes for proof of concept work.
  • Frequently demonstrate technical and professional competencies on medium profile (size) projects
  • Work with suppliers to procure key equipment in support of process / product introductions.
  • Accurately complete process layouts, detailed drawings, or schematics as needed.
  • Business Acumen
  • Develop a familiarity with accounting principles, capital and expense planning, cost center reporting, and other tools to understand project performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Work Experience Requirements

  • Number of Overall Years Necessary:
    2-5
  • 3 to 5 years in a related industry desired

Education Requirements

  • BSME/EE or equivalent required

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:

  • CAD software proficiency
  • Basic PC and MS Office proficiency
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Familiarity with DOE techniques, statistical analysis tools, and/or DFM principles preferred.
  • Machine design or electrical design experience preferred
  • PLC/Robot programming and knowledge of machine controls is preferred
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, with ISO and FDA experience in a medical device manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of Injection Molding is preferred
  • Heat sealing technology background a plus
